Star Anise has an intense liquorice aroma and is an essential ingredient in Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. It can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes. Add one or two pods to beef and chicken stews, and to bone broths and vegetable soups. Use in marinades for fatty meats. Grated or ground, star anise adds zing to desserts and baked goods.
